Detritus magazine cover

  1. The magazine is clearly recognisable as a horror front cover and adheres to design and layout conventions. Attention to detail and care in the presentation of the copy using a variety of suitable fonts and sizes and a good eye of the composition. There is some sophistication in technical skills here and some nice touches with the bloody hand graphic. A strong central image could be improved to show possession by using the vein effects as the poster does on the antagonist as well as blackening out her eyes.
You need to clarify about the detritus feature is it an interview a review or what?
Angela doesn't work and looks clunky hanging there use a box?
Be careful of margins - left & right text margins are not in line.

  2. Overall I think that the magazine really stands out. The image clearly shows that she is the antagonist and that the sub-genre is supernatural/paranormal. The fonts work really well with the colour scheme and really suit the sub-genre. The layout of the text is also very good as you've used the rule of third in order to decide where the text is going. The only thing that I can see missing is the barcode.
