New media technology is an important part in the process of researching, planning and constructing any media product. We found it extremely useful when making our trailer as it allowed us to make a more effective text. The internet allowed us to promote the product on a universal scale through a variety of formats.  New technologies are extremely beneficial as it means that the producers exhibiting and distributing the product and do so in a cheap and quick way and the consumers can access the product from a variety of formats thus it is easier to consume the product. Technology has developed dramatically. this  allows us to access and experience lots of types of media in different places such as devices e.g. smartphones. The use of technological convergence allows consumers to view products on a variety of formats and thus the product is made more universal as more people can access it e.g. if someone doesn't like going to the cinema they can download the product on their device of choice or buy the dvd or even watch it on Netflix/LoveFilm, the list goes on and on so that more and more audiences will view the product.
